The spot light was beamed on Mr. Samuel Kwabena Owusu, popularly known as “Nanaeffe” for his mastery of digital video recording and production of homemade DVD’s in the Ghanaian and African community in Chicago. The event was the 50th birthday celebrations of Samuel Owusu which was held at the spacious Dorchester Banquet Hall, Dolton Illinois, on Saturday, November 26 2011. The celebration was one of the most elegant and well attended 50th birthday celebrations in Chicago recently. It was estimated that over 400 members of the community and guests from out of state attended the event.
Organized by friends and family, the birthday party featured one of the top deejay’s in the windy city, DJ Bonsu . D.J Bonsu was impressive with his wave of selections for the occasion. His choices of Funk, Hip Life, Old School, Reggae and the likes met the taste of the celebrant and attendees; and kept the crowd dancing all night long. There was also a live band that entertained the gathering.
The event climaxed when “Nanaeffe”, supported by family and friends took to the floor and delivered some spectacular dance moves, proving that his dancing age is 25 years less than his actual age!
Pastor Oladipo of the United Methodist Church, Chicago, offered prayers seeking the Lord’s protection, blessings and long life for the celebrant. The Emcee was Mrs. Elizabeth Mills.
