Saddick Adams feels vindicated for joining Kotoko

Hat-trick hero, Saddick Adams says his performance in the MTN FA Cup against rivals Hearts of Oak should be enough to silence his critics, adding that he feels vindicated to have joined Asante Kotoko despite his early season struggles in the Ghana Premier League.

Saddick Adams has been in the news for all the right reasons in the last 24 hours, after scoring a hat-trick to help Kotoko beat rivals Hearts of Oak 3-1 in the FA Cup final played in Tamale on Sunday.
Adams churned out an amazing 45 minutes display in which he scored three times to put Kotoko on the path to their 9th FA Cup title.

Saddick was a former Ghana Youth star who was tipped for greater things, but a combination of factors, has ensured that he has not entirely lived up to the high expectations many had for him.

He joined Kotoko earlier this season with the hope of reviving his own ailing career and a promise to also use his experience help Kotoko win the Ghana Premier League. But the 27 year old had a difficult start to life in the Premier League, leaving some wondering if Kotoko made the right choice to sign him on, for a hefty fee, allegedly.

Speaking to GhanaWeb after the victory in Tamale- a city he was born and raised – Saddick said, joining Kotoko was the best decision and he feels vindicated choosing the Porcupine Warriors.

“I think the season has been wonderful, we won the Presidents Cup and now the FA Cup. This victory is even more important because we are going to represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup. I want to thank my colleagues and the supporters because without them we couldn’t have won this trophy. I am happy I chose Kotoko because they showed that they wanted me and every time as a player you go where you are wanted or made to feel wanted. You just don’t pick your bag and sign for just any club. Kotoko wanted me and I think I made a right choice to join them.”

Adams who once played for Spanish side Atletico Madrid with Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea will see his end of season performance as a sign of good things to come and with the chance to play in the CAF Confederations Cup with Kotoko next year, Saddick who is only 27 years old, may perhaps finally fulfill his huge potential.
