Former National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joshua Hamidu Akamba, has urged the President to remove some ministers from office, citing what he described as “arrogance of power".
In a video sighted by GhanaWeb on June 4, 2026, the outspoken NDC stalwart who did not mention any names stated that some ministers have exhibited conduct that warrants their removal.

"There are two or three ministers who I will love for them to be shifted from their positions due to arrogance. They are both men and women,” he said.
Akamba also called on the government to allow state institutions to operate independently without interference from political actors, cautioning ministers to stay away from influencing their work.
“We must allow our institutions to work. Let no minister try to influence those institutions in any case,” he warned.
Akamba further noted that he would reject any political appointment from President John Dramani Mahama, insisting he has no interest in serving in government.
“I will reject any appointment, I don’t want to be an appointee,” he said.
Akamba dismissed any perception that his comments are driven by fear or personal interest, pointing to his history of speaking openly on national issues.
“.....You know me, I have never been a coward,” he added.
