The Progress People’s Party (PPP) 2016 parliamentary candidate in the Obuasi East Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Frank Aboagye Danyansah has called for the head of the Trades Minister, Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng.

According to the politician, the Minister is sleeping on his core mandate to ensure prices of imported goods and services into the country are reduced.

Mr. Frank Aboagye Danyansah also accused the sector minister of not being on top of issues regarding trading activities between Ghana and its partners in other countries.

The PPP’s communicator accusations come at a time traders at Suame Magazine industrial area in Kumasi were invited to the Presidency to following concerns their businesses are on the verge of collapsing under Akufo-Addo.

“How come it has to take the presidency to invite these traders to the Flagstaff House before their concerns are addressed”, Mr. Frank Aboagye Danyansah asked.

“Where is the Minister of Trade and Industry? …is he in the country”, the communicator quizzed on Kumasi-based Abusua FM.

“If Alan Kyeremanteng is still the sector minister, I advise President Akufo-Addo to fire him immediately”, he suggested in a loud roar.

“The minister is just sleeping on his job and the President must take note and fire him”, Mr. Frank Aboagye Danyansah insisted

A meeting with the Vice President Dr. Mahommodu Bawumia upon invitation to the leadership of traders ended inconclusive due to hitches on the part of the government.

The aggrieved spare parts dealers complain their businesses are on the verge of collapse due to the introduction of 3% VAT rate by the government.
