SRC President "Pounded" for calling off "aluta"

The Students? Representative Council president Mr Anyimah-Ackah was allegedly ?ponded? for calling off the demonstration at the last minute by a group of students led by the Chief Vandal. The SRC president disclosed that the intended demonstration was cancelled by the Executive Committee because they did not meet the requirement of giving the police 5 days notice among other reasons. Dr Antwi-Danso, condemning the act by the Students said ?ponding? is banned and considered as a criminal offence and therefore, he is waiting for a report from the SRC for the culprits to be dealt with according to the University?s regulation.

Mr Evans Kofi Panford, chairman of the SRC Hostel/Complex Building Committee, described the ponding of the SRC president as a clear case of zeal without intellectual understanding. He therefore, called on the University authorities to look into the matter and apply the appropriate sanctions against the Chief Vandal and his group.
