A seven-year-old boy needs about Gh¢14, 000 to undergo a brain tumor surgery.
The cancer has cost him his speech; he only makes muffled sounds which his family struggles to decipher. He has also lost the ability to eat, so he is fed through a tube which has been connected to his nostrils.
That’s not all, little Francis is almost paralyzed on his left side. His left hand constantly shakes as the cancer spreads through his fragile body. As the tumor grows, poor Francis’ head grows too.
Francis is scheduled for a surgical procedure June 4, but his family cannot even afford the initial deposit of Gh¢8, 000.
His mother Dora is appealing to the public to come to their aid as time is running out and the possibility of losing her son looms.
The hospital has become Francis’ home and the only people he comes in contact with are other sick children and his mother.
According to Starr News’ Tawakalitu Braimah, Dora had to stop her petty trading to be with Francis at the hospital all day while his unemployed father struggles to support his two siblings. The family is at its wit’s end with no help in sight.
They are appealing to benevolent individuals and organisations to assist them foot the surgical bills.
