SDA pastor commends President

Koforidua, May 25, GNA - Pastor Emmanuel O. Abbey, Stewardship and Development Director of the Ghana Union of Seventh Day Adventist Church, has commended President John Agyekum Kufuor for the bold steps he had taken to mitigate the economic hardship Ghanaians are facing as a result of escalating food and fuel prices.

He has therefore called on stakeholders of the economy to ensure that the intervention is reflected in people's lives. Pastor Abbey said this at the ordination of eight ministers of the church at Asokore on Saturday.

He said the current events around the globe such as global warming, the earthquake in China and the economic hardship facing the world were signs of the second coming of Jesus Christ and urged Christians to seek the Kingdom of God.

The eight ministers were Pastors Clifford Asomaning Marfo, Addai Festus, Harrison Baffour Addai, Albert Darko, Christopher Eshun Joseph, Peter Kofi Mfum Arthur, Isaac Oteng-Asare Kofi, and Garnet Owusu Ansah. Pastor Abbey expressed concern about activities of some men of God that bring the name of God into disrepute and cautioned those pastors to desist from such acts.
