SADA will be renamed Northern Development Authority - NPP

Prince Imoro Andani, a former Northern Regional Minister, has said when given the mandate, the New Patriotic Party administration would change the name Savannah Accelerated Development Authority into Northern Development Authority.

He said the party’s intension to create one dam in each village and one district getting one factory and the establishment of the constituency fund would help create jobs for the citizenry particularly among the youth.

He said the party would focus on agricultural mechanization and grant fertilizer and seed subsidies to farmers, separate the Cocoa Board from the Share nut Development Board among others as part of the drive to improve on agric and agric related ventures.

He said the NPP Government would also endorse the election of District Chief Executives to make them more accountable to the people to help improve the decentralization concept.

Naba Segri Bewong, a Board Member of SADA, said the failure of the Government to budget for SADA was affecting its smooth operations saying there is the need for the release of the stated percentage of the Non Petroleum products for SADA.

Dr Charles Abugre said the master plan for SADA when fully explored could help transform the Northern Ecological Zones.
