The game was played in Moscow

The Black Stars lost 1-0 to Russia in an international friendly in Moscow on Tuesday evening.

The team despite putting up a brave fight could not level after Fedor Smolov’s 19th-minute goal in the first half.

The FC Krasnodar forward was put through neatly inside the box with a defence-splitting pass, and he shot through the legs of Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey.

Defender John Boye was excellent on the day as he made two crucial goal line clearances after goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey was beaten on two occasions.

The defeat to Ghana is their first loss in 2016.
