Robbery hits Northern Regional NDC

… GH?45, 000, 00 missing

An amount of Ghana forty five thousand three hundred cedis drawn from the accounts of the northern regional secretariat of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been stolen.

The party's Regional Treasurer, Rashid Tanko confirmed the incident to reporters in an interview.

According to him, the stolen money was meant for the payment of party agents monitoring the ongoing 10 days biometric voter register exhibition exercise.

He narrated, “I was robbed in the early hours of Wednesday morning when I picked money from the National Investment Bank ostensibly to pay our party agents who are engaged for this biometric registration exercise.”

“But I was robbed by a group of hoodlums who ostensibly used cruel methods and deflated my vehicle tyres when we got to the traffic; we got down to check the tyres and when we got back the polythene bag containing the money was nowhere to be found.”

But he said two of the suspects were in the grips of the Tamale Police command while two were on the run.
