Review GETFUND law to cover private universities - Prof Afranie

Kumasi, Feb 23, GNA - Professor Sam Afranie, Chairman of Christian Service University College (CSUC) Council, has called on the government to review the legislation establishing the Ghana Education Trust fund (GET-fund) to enable it cover private universities as well. This, he said would help the private universities to provide quality education for many young people who could not enter the few and over-stretched public universities.

Professor Afranie made the call at the 32nd graduation ceremony of the University at Kumasi on Saturday. It was under the theme, "Quality manpower development; the role of private universities." Some 346 students from the Department of Theology and Business Administration, graduated.

Professor Afranie advised the graduands to make good use of the knowledge they had acquired at the College. He announced that a degree course in Nursing would soon be introduced at the college. Professor Emmanuel Frempong, President of the University, urged the graduands to serve their communities. He commended the staff of the University for their Commitment over the years to the development of the College.
