Executive Director of Eduwatch, Kofi Asare, has criticized the government’s decision to remove the Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
The government announced the dismissal of the hospital’s CEO following a visit by the Minister of Health to the facility.
The decision to sack the CEO stems from the death of an accident victim, which the public believes was caused by medical negligence.
Although some residents of Tamale and other indigenes support the move, Kofi Asare believes the government should reconsider its decision.
He argues that dismissing the CEO does not address the root cause of the problem and instead obscures the underlying issues.
Expressing his views in a social media post, he stated: “The spontaneous dismissal of the Tamale Teaching Hospital CEO is not a solution. The minister must reflect and rescind. Such actions blur the real problems. We need strong institutions, not strong men.”
