The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has stated that the reset of Ghana must begin from the NDC.
In an interview on Channel One TV and monitored by GhanaWeb on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, he explained that the idea of reset is not a mere slogan, but a true call for internal reforms and introspection.
"When we (the NDC) moved into the campaign and we spoke about reset in Ghana, maybe members of our own party just thought that it was just a word that we're using. And maybe as far as some of them are concerned, that reset means it should be directed towards anybody.
"So, reset the NPP, reset the people who are not on our side. But the real reset must begin from the NDC. Charity begins at home. Now, if we as the people in the party who have found ourselves in positions of leadership in a party cannot be the first group of people to understand that it cannot be business as usual; it cannot be what it is that used to be; it should be something different, that means that we don't understand what is going on here," he noted.
His comments align with the broader vision of President John Dramani Mahama who has promised to reset Ghana's governance and development path since assuming office.
He has anchored his leadership on the idea of a national reset arguing that the country's deepening crises calls for a bold reawakening of all sectors.
His reset agenda aims to restore effective governance, accountability, and social equity.
