Report on medical school seminar

The school of medicine, dental school, faculty of science in colaboraation with the science students association of university of Ghana organised a seminar for levels 100 & 200 science students of university of Ghanaon the 14th of march 2033 under the theme "medical school what is the way forward". Present at the seminar included the dean of dental school, , dean of science faculty and other speakers.
The seminar focussed on pre-requisite for qualification to the medical school,dental school and school of health sciences, the medical/dental school interview, how marks are awarded at the interview & what is expected of the students and other courses available in the faculty.
the dean of dental school in his address made mention of a reduction in the government allowance to the school and said there are indication of reduction in the number of intake of Ghanaian student of government sponsorship and an increase in the full payment students.He also made mention of intention to increase the number of women intake .
The president of the science students association Dennis Amedzeame-Dorbu in his address called on the students to join hand to help change the public understanding of science and its relevance to the society/community. he also made mention of a 3-day exhibiton and conference to be organised on University of Ghana campus to foster collaboration between the University and the industries. According to him the program will feature plenary sessions, talkshow,industrial partners day, expo fair 2003, roundtable conference of lecturers, student delegates and the forsce to reckon with in the job market and an aids seminar.
To close the seminar, the dean of science faculty thank all present and made a special appeal to companies/organisations to mount up stands during the event to exhibit and sell their products to the community.he also made a passionate appeal to personalities from both industrial and academic establishment to make presentations during the talkshow.the new executives were later introduce to the student body: president:dennis dorbu., entertainment secretary: harry v. poku, Org Secretary: Elke Aryee, Level Rep: Pamela Ofori-Kumah etc.
