Repairer gets 7 years for sodomy

A repairer, who admitted having anal sex with a 13-year-old boy at Chorkor in the Greater Accra Region, has been sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment in hard labour.

Michael Mills, aka Nii Lantey, was hauled before an Accra Circuit Court on the charge of defiling a child under the age of 16.

He had anal sex with the victim on numerous occasions and warned him not to tell anyone or else he would die.

The convict reportedly kept the victim for a whole day after his parents declared him missing and started a search for him.

The victim disclosed that Michael Mills had anal sex with him on numerous occasions during interrogation.

The victim’s parents confronted Mills, who denied the allegations.

The convict later went into hiding after he was interrogated by the victim’s parents.

The matter was reported to the police and the convict was later arrested.

He admitted the offence in his caution statement.

Mills was subsequently arraigned before court where he pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement.

The court, presided over by a relieving judge, Ruby Naa Adjeley Quaison, convicted Mills on his own plea and sentenced him to seven years’ imprisonment in hard labour.
