Rehabilitate Kwahu Nsabaa-Asubone Rail road -chief

Asubone (E/R), Feb 15, GNA- Nana Ampadu Addo II, Krontihene of Asubone Rail near Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region, has appealed to government to rehabilitate the Kwahu Nsabaa-Asubone Rail road and the bailey bridge over river Asobone to facilitate socio-economic activities. He also advised management of Log Lumber Limited, a wood processing factory in Kumasi, to ensure that its timber truck drivers avoided over loading of trucks and over speeding to reduce the high rate of accidents. In an interview with Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Asobone Rail, Nana Addo said drivers of the company posed a threat to road users and commercial vehicles. He said the heavy timber trucks had destroyed the bailey bridge on the river and the company had constructed a wooden one. Nana Addo said on February 7, this year, three passengers were injured when the back axle of a timber truck hooked a taxi car with registration number GT 8109 and dragged it for a distance before stopping. He advised commercial drivers and road users to exercise caution on the road to avoid accidents.
