Regional Muinister Urges Public To Buy More Shares In Rural Bank

Amasaman (G/A), Aug. 4, - Mr. Amos Buertey, Deputy Greater-Accra Regional Minister has urged the public to buy more shares in rural banks to help strengthen their capital base. Mr Buertey gave the advice in a speech read for him by Mr Samuel K. Kotei, district co-ordinating director of the Ga district assembly at the fifth annual general meeting of shareholders of the Ga Rural Bank at Amasaman at the weekend. He commended rural banks for the role they play in the economy of predominantly rural communities since the inception of the rural banking concept in 1978. Mr Buertey who is also the acting Ga district chief executive advised the public to save with the bank rather than "keeping your money at home at the mercy of hoodlums, thugs and armed robbers."
