Manchester City midfielder Rodri has revealed that he is open to joining Real Madrid if the opportunity arises in the future.
He explained that he would like to return to La Liga at some point in his career, having begun his professional journey in Spain before moving abroad.
The Ballon d’Or winner clarified that he has not ruled out the possibility of playing for Los Blancos, despite reports suggesting otherwise.
Mohamed Salah to exit Liverpool
“Real Madrid is not a closed door for me. I hadn’t planned to play outside of Spain in my career, but Manchester City came up as an option in 2019 and I said yes."
"I would like to return to La Liga; I still follow it. The Premier League is my weakness, but it is also a very demanding league. For now, I am very happy here,” he told Onda Cero.
Rodri has stated that he has not yet entered into contract talks with Manchester City over his deal, which runs until 2027, as he considers his future plans.
“I have one year left on my contract at Man City. At some point, we’ll have to sit down and talk,” he added.
