The Ghana National fire Service says it will send a high powered delegation from the Headquarters on Monday to investigate the alleged assault on a newscaster at Bryt FM in the Eastern Region.

In a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, Billy Anaglate, the management of the Fire Service appealed to Bryt fm to exercise restraint in handling the matter and cooperate with the Service to enable the two Institutions investigate and deal with the matter fairly.

Management of the Ghana National Fire Service Headquarters’ attention has been drawn to a news item on Bryt fm station on Friday,19th Aprl,2017 accusing the officials of the Fire Service Eastern Region of storming and threatening to assault news casters of the Bryt fm for airing a story which purported to damage the image of the Fire Service.

The Chief Fire Officer Dr ALBERT Brown Gaisie would like to assure Bryt fm that he has taken a serious look at the issue and would send a high powered delegation from the Headquarters on Monday to investigate the issue to enable an informed decision taken on the matter.

The GNFS would like to inform Bryt fm that the Fire Service has a very good working relationship with the media and would like to establish same relationship with Bryt fm and would therefore not do anything to derail the good relationship the Service has with the Media.

We hope Bryt fm would cooperate with the Service on this matter.

However, management of the Fire Service would like to appeal to Bryt fm to exercise restraint in handling the matter and cooperate with the Service to enable the two Institutions investigate and deal with the matter fairly.

The Fire Service would like to use this opportunity to express their condolence to the bereaved family for the unfortunate incident which led to the loss of their son.

The Fire Service therefore anticipate your cooperation on the above matter.
