Rawlings opposed my decision to contest as MP - Kofi Adams

Former National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, has said former President Jerry John Rawlings was not happy with his decision to contest as Member of Parliament for the Buem constituency.

Mr. Adams is confident of winning the Oti Region seat on the ticket of the NDC to become Member of Parliament in the 2020 Parliamentary elections.

According to him, the former President was not happy with his decision to contest as MP because he wanted him to contribute to the NDC Executives in ensuring the party regains power in 2020.

“I told my father, JJ Rawlings, I want to contest as MP for Buem constituency, he was not happy because he thought to look at my credentials I have more ideas to help the party in the National level rather than constituency,” Kofi Adams exclusively told Kwame Tutu on Anopa Nkomo on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7

He said having served in many capacities within the party, he is best suited to be the legislator for the constituency.

“As MP, I will work to unite the people of Buem in order to place them in the position for accelerated development and growth since unity is paramount to achieving these targets,” he stressed.

He also promised to build a solid, strong, united and responsive NDC that will reward hard work.
