Rawlings' criticisms of Mills are right - Alhaji Gado

Kumasi, March 21, GNA - Alhaji Gado Sulemana, a leading member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kumasi, on Saturday said former President Jerry John Rawlings' critique of President Mills' administration should be taken serious and in good faith.

He said it would be tragic to take the founder of the party's criticisms of the government for things he sees wrong. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi, Alhaji Gado said it would do the NDC a lot of good if ministers of state and other appointees listened to the former President.

He said nobody in the party should assume or pretend to have greater stake in the party than Mr Rawlings.

Alhaji Gado added that Former President Rawlings' enormous influence should therefore not be underestimated or discounted. He advised party members and supporters to be more circumspect in their utterances to safeguard the unity and cohesion of the NDC. Alhaji Gado said they should avoid sending wrong signals to the electorate ahead of the 2012 elections.
