A former first Deputy Speaker of Parliament Freddie Blay has revealed to Starr Chart host Bola Ray that there has been a long standing tension between him and former President Jerry Rawlings.
According to him, the two of them have had difficulties exchanging pleasantries even at public events.
“We’ve met a couple of times and one time, it was difficult even shaking hands.
“On the contrary, I have had very pleasant and engaging relationship with his wife,” the first Vice Chair of the main opposition New Patriotic Party stated Wednesday. . He also noted that he was one of the people who were imprisoned under the military government led by Mr Rawlings when he staged a coup in 1981.
“I was not enthused by the revolution more so when I fell a victim for one year; I was imprisoned at Ho and also in Usher fort in Accra”.
He, however, said he is confident that with the passing of time, he and the former military leader will be able to exchange pleasantries if they met.
