Rawlings, Konadu mourn Sowu

Former President, Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings and Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, Vice-Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have expressed sadness at the sudden passing away of Squadron Leader Clend Sowu, a founding member of the party.

The former President, who is the Founder of the NDC and his wife, said Squadron Leader Sowu was an independent-minded person who always stood by the principles and ideals of the party.

“He was a strong figure in the party because he always spoke dispassionately on issues without fear or favour.

“In this era when many have allowed the intoxication of political office to cloud their judgement, Sowu did not succumb to that weakness and continued to call for sanity and commonsense to prevail at all times. NDC has lost a great pillar,” President and Mrs. Rawlings said.

The former President and his wife expressed their sympathies to the family of the departed and urged them to stay strong at this difficult period.

“Our heartfelt condolences go to the bereaved family,” they concluded.
