OFFICE OF THE WESTERN REGIONAL YOUTH ORGANISER.
Press Statement
RAS MUBARAK FIRED!!
We the Youth Wing of the Western Regional National Democratic Congress wish to express our deepest misgiving and utmost regret on the recent comments of the failed aspirant of the National Youth Organiser position in the NDC, Mohammed Abdullai Mubarak a.k.a Ras Mubarak who happened to be a Raggae DJ in London when we were seriously campaigning for power in Ghana in 2008 general elections.
The NDC as matter of ideology believes in free speech and the vibrancy of the youth; however we undoubtedly exercise this right with responsibility and decorum. Indeed, nature has its own way of correcting misfortunes. Would this have been the Youth Organiser of the NDC? No wonder he got 3 (three) votes after touring the whole country to canvass votes from over 600 delegates. We feel even more alarmed by the fact that he seems to be clinching on the back of the founder to make him popular. It is no news that the founder has made his legitimate concerns known, besides he has a spokesperson through whom he speaks, therefore any attempt by any individual or group of people to take advantage of the founder’s position to train insult, unholy criticisms and insinuations should totally be condemned by all and treated with the contempt it deserves. We are by this statement as a matter of urgency, with all due respect and humility call on the former President Ft. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings to openly distant himself from the unholy use of his name in casting aspersion, invectives and outright insults on the Presidency, the party and the government.
With his behavior he is leaving us with little doubt that his activities are being micromanaged by certain persons who are hell burnt on drowning the positives of Prof. Mills’s administration and that should not be allowed to continue. It’s about time we took the bull by the horn and crack the whip on any member who would want to bring the party and the government into ridicule. Hence, we would want to call on the National Executive and the Disciplinary Committee to take an urgent disciplinary action against Ras Mubarak.
