Mr Anthony Osei Gyimah, the newly elected Abuakwa North parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), says development would be his top priority if he gets the nod as Member of Parliament.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, after his victory, the Hospital Manager at the Preferred Care in Denver Colorado, USA, said, his focus is to merge with his contestants to build a formidable force for the 2016 elections by forming an all inclusive leadership.

Mr Gyimah said he would seek the opinions of his constituents through the organisation of town hall meeting in the communities every three months to enable the electorate to share ideas and find solutions to problems in the constituency.

He commended Mr Victor Smith, the UK High Commissioner for his contribution towards infrastructural development in the constituency.

Mr Gyimah polled 1044 votes, while the East Akyem Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Peter Simon Asirifi had 835 votes and Mr Siaw Frempong, 266.
