The Leader of the Temple of Rabii, Asomdwe Ntonton Som, Nyame Somafo Yawoh, has urged the leadership of parliament to unite for a common purpose and for the growth of the country.
According to him, the myriad issues confronting the nation require Members of Parliament to unite to defeat the “common enemy”, which is poverty, and propel the country toward rapid development.
Nyame Somafo Yawoh, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, led a delegation to parliament to invite its leadership to the 2025 festival, known as the “Ogyebea Festival.”
The festival, considered the biggest in the sub-region, affords members the opportunity to go around the stone building known as the “Kaaba” nine (9) times.
The Kaaba, which is similar to the one in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, is situated in Ekumfi Otuam in the Central Region. It is believed to hold spiritual powers and to grant members their wishes after they undertake the spiritual journey.
The visit to the Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, Ernest Henry Norgbey, was in recognition of his contribution to the development of the Ashaiman Constituency since assuming office as Member of Parliament.
In his remarks, the Leader of the Temple of Rabii said he had observed the MP from afar as a young and energetic man who is dedicated to his work and has a strong desire to serve his constituents. He noted that many members of the Temple reside in Ashaiman, hence the invitation extended to the MP to attend the upcoming festival.
He also took the opportunity to speak on national issues requiring urgent attention, including the protection of human rights and the reduction of youth unemployment.
Nyame Somafo Yawoh further presented fifty (50) footballs to Ernest Norgbey for onward distribution to football clubs within the constituency.
On his part, Ernest Norgbey, who is serving his third term as Member of Parliament for the area, stated that the government of the National Democratic Congress will continue to prioritize road infrastructure, sanitation, and job creation for the teeming masses.
He also promised to attend the festival with his colleague MPs, scheduled to take place from 25th December 2025 to 1st January 2026.
Expressing his heartfelt gratitude after receiving the footballs, Ernest Norgbey noted that the development of sports in the constituency is one of his key campaign promises.
The Temple of Rabii, considered the “Third Religion,” is expected to attract over 40,000 participants, with members drawn from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and Israel.
