The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) is hot on the heels of founder and Group Chairman of RLG Communications, Roland Agambire, as a subsidiary company of the group, ACI Construction Company (ACI), has been identified as accruing a default tax debt of GH?14,312,974.19 within a year.

According to the National Co-ordinator for the Task Force at the GRA, Henry Sam, all attempts to reach Agambire to settle the tax obligations proved unsuccessful.

Fourteen companies, including ACI have been flagged for a distress action with the amount involved reaching a tune of GHc63,091,370.71.

Meanwhile, RLG’s premises of the RLG has been attached and has up to 14 days to satisfy his tax payment failure upon which the facility will be auctioned to settle the cost.

Henry Sam explained that per section 34 of the VAT Act, Act 546, and section 136 of the Internal Revenue Act, when a property is sealed, owners have 14 days within which to pay up. He added that the place has been locked, and the property will be auctioned if the company fails to pay the debt.

The GRA entreated all institutions, especially defaulting taxpayers, to willingly fulfill their tax obligations.
