The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), has described as false, reports suggesting that some eleven Togolese in Ghana have tested positive for Coronavirus in Kumasi.

Previous reports on local media 3news suggested that the eleven were captured by the Kumasi Metropolitan Committee, which has been on course, tracing contacts of patients as part of government’s effort to expand testing.

A statement from the Assembly however noted that the said nationals were twelve in total. Per the details, they were travelling from Kwame Seikrom to Pwalugu and missed their bus at Race Course.

Samples of all 12 were subsequently taken by the Metro Health team for COVID-19, after the Bantama Sub-metro Administrator was informed by the station chair and they were sent to a private residence in isolation.

Tests of all 12 proved negative and the Togolese nationals were later referred to the Ghana Immigration Service for action.
