Mr. Richard Prah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the City of Gold Jewellery has honoured his promise by replacing the gold earrings of Dr Elsie Effah Kaufmann, Quiz Mistress of the just ended 2017 Edition of National Science & Maths Quiz.

The Kumasi-based Jeweller offered to replace the stolen items after news about the plight of the Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana went viral during the grand finale of the 2017 edition of the event.

He revealed that he was touched by the plight of the Dr Kaufmann who had given her best to the nation only for a thief to take the shine out of the success of the event.

Subsequently he established contacts and traveled to Accra where he met with the lecturer at her office at the University of Ghana and made the donation to her.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Ultimate Fm, he said “we all know the euphoria that surrounded the National Science and Maths Quiz only for me to read in the evening that the quiz mistress had lost her bag and in it was her gold ear rings. This caught my attention because I am into manufacturing of gold jewellery.”

“We got the opportunity to get in touch with Dr Elsie Effah Kaufmann and arranged that today we will do the presentation. By the grace of God, today we got to Accra and proceeded to her office at the University of Ghana Engineering department and we made our humble gesture.”

“She was so excited to have us that at a point she couldn’t find the words to show appreciation. She kept asking, so you came all the way from Kumasi to do this” he narrated.
