Queen congratulates Ghana on Independence

The British Monarch, Queen Elizabeth II has sent a message to President John Agyekum Kufuor on Ghana's 45th independence anniversary, which falls on Wednesday.

The message released by the British High Commission in Accra read: "It gives me great pleasure on the occasion of your National day to extend to Your Excellency Mr J. A. Kufuor and the people of the Republic of Ghana my warmest greetings and every good wish for a peaceful and prosperous future." - GNA
