Put in place measures to control coronavirus before profits – Gabby to businesses

Danquah Institute founder Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has advised businesses to put in place the safety protocols to control the spread of the coronavirus before thinking of making profits because the virus is still “very much with us”.

According to President Akufo-Addo’s cousin, the number of COVID-19 cases will grow as the nation test more but the numbers will grow even more if Ghanaians do not observe the protocols.

In a Facebook post on Monday, 4 May 2020 to remind Ghanaians that the virus only moves when people move.

“Please, please, please! Coronavirus is still very much with us. Don’t let your guard down. On your construction site, in trotros, markets, factories, barber shops etc, please put the measures to control the virus before profit. The numbers will grow as we test more. But the numbers will grow even more if we don’t observe the protocols. Even if we have less than 2% infection rate among those tested, 2% of 5,000 will put less pressure on our healthcare system than 2% of 50,000, for example. The virus doesn’t move. People move,” Mr Otchere-Darko advised.

Ghana has so far recorded 2,169 COVID-19 cases with 18 deaths and 229 recoveries.

As at today, 4 May 2020, the world had recorded 3,579,479 COVID-19 cases with 248,445 deaths and 1,158,956 recoveries according to Worldometer.
