Pursue faithfulness and chastity- Apostle Kingsford Kyei-Mensah

Apostle Kingsford Kyei-Mensah, Sunyani Area Head of the Church of Pentecost at the weekend asked Christians to pursue faithfulness and chastity rather than material gains.

He was speaking at a farewell service held for The Reverend Charles Boamah Asante, Sunyani Central District Pastor of the church who had been transferred to the Ashaiman Lebanon district of the church.

The service was under the theme, “Keeping the main thing”.

Apostle Kyei-Mensah said “most Christians have failed in the Ministry because the relevant issues in Christianity have been relegated to the background”.

“Godliness in contentment is a great gain”, he said, and advised Christians to desist from chasing earthly gains and comfort but rather focus on the work of God which is more rewarding.

The Apostle asked Christians to appreciate their purpose on Earth and set their priorities accordingly, saying “the main thing in Christianity is to preach the gospel to lost souls”.

Apostle Kyei-Mensah however bemoaned the attitude of some Christians who could keep records of “irrelevant issues in memory but cannot quote a single Bible verse”.

He called on Christians to have a change of attitude in their Christian lives and do the work of God diligently.

“People may praise and say good things about you after your death but what the Lord says is what matters”, Apostle Kyei-Mensah added.

He advised the Reverend Asante to reach out to more people with the word of God at his new station.

A testimony read on behalf of the Sunyani Central District by Elder Charles Boadi indicated that Reverend Asante chalked a number of successes during his tenure as a resident Minister of the Church.

Among some of his achievements was the introduction of a radio ministry called “the voice of Pentecost” on B.A.R, Sunyani-based community Radio.

The Reverend Asante also completed and dedicated the district mission house and furnished an office with the state-of-the-art equipment, introduced officers’ monthly and dawn prayers, as well as prayers for all categories of people in the Church.

“During his tenure of office, Reverend Asante blessed a total of 56 marriages”.

Elder Boadi described the Reverend Minister as a teacher of the word of God and a man of prayer and urged him to continue with his good works in his new district.**
