Public schools should take cues from private schools — Anis Haffar

Anis Haffar Anis Haffar

Renowned Educationalist, Anis Haffar, has noted, the environmental and infrastructural conditions of most public schools in the country discourage effective teaching and learning as they happen in private schools.

He said most public schools in the country are in states of dilapidation, “there are no toilets and water facilities; the environment is dirty, dust blows everywhere.” he stated.

He said because of the rundown conditions of most public schools, supervisors, professors and lecturers hardly spend time at school sites monitoring activities of young teachers.

The way forward, he said, was for public schools to takes cues from private schools, where school owners heavily invest in infrastructure, clean environment, teaching and learning materials and also ensure that teachers are highly motivated constantly.

Mr. Anis Haffar made these comments on the #InFocus segment of HSTV’s Morning Show,#HealthyMorning, talking to HSTV’s Cecil Lee Longdon about The state of Ghana’s Educational System and how it can be improved.
