Protect streetlights from destruction

Gomoa Potsin (C/R), Feb. 1, GNA - The Electricity Company of Ghana and the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies have been asked to prevent the destruction of streetlights to ensure uninterrupted lighting of roads and streets.

The Gomoa East Propaganda Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Daniel Domi, made the appeal through GNA at Gomoa Potsin on Sunday.

He expressed worry that vehicles run into streetlights and called for the creation of heavy embankments around the poles. Mr Dome, who is also Gomoa East Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation, (NADMO), cited that "The streetlights along the Odorkor-Kasoa highway and newly installed ones along the Tema Motorway are diminishing at a faster rate". He called on Ghanaians to support the NDC Government to enable it to achieve the Better Ghana agenda.

Mr Dome asked District Chief Executives to regularly explain government policies and progammes to the people. He urged NDC supporters to neutralize allegations by political opponents against the party adding "We must not keep quite for our detractors to use the airwav4es to tell lies against NDC".
