The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has admonished the Attorney General and Minister of Justice to prosecute the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako.

He said he should face the law together with the former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi who has been banned for life from all football-related activities by FIFA after he was found guilty of bribery and corruption.

According to him, Kweku Baako should be prosecuted for his role in the 'Number 12' video, an investigative exposé by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

"He [Kweku Baako] is a key suspect in the matter because he first took the video to the President to watch after which some vital portions were deleted and therefore is a key problem in the whole matter," he said.

His reactions come at the back of an earlier statement issued by the NDC who want the President to avail himself to be investigated to clear his name in the Anas exposé.

Kweku Baako after the statement described the call by the NDC as an "infantile nonsense".

He said the statement issued is annoying adding that it was issued by some "weak and wicked minds".

"It is annoying. This is opportunism of the highest order; no basis…This is crass opportunism. It distorts the debate and the discourse but that is it. So predictable; weak minds and wicked minds! It doesn’t make sense…It's pathetic," he said on Accra-based Peace FM.

But Asiedu Nketia in an interview on Kumasi-based FM still maintained that Nana Addo and vice President Mahamudu Bawumia must be investigated to clear their name.

"It is the same Kwaku Baako who is exposing himself to the world. Do you know Anas Aremeyaw Anas was mentored by the same Kwaku Baako? We must investigate the money laundering and other areas including the $11 million dollars and his association with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The President is complicit because he has allegedly received bribe," he stated.
