Professor Mills Accepts Government Apology

Former vice President, Professor Evans Atta Mills has accepted the apology rendered by government for the seizure of vehicles from his house. But he has urged the security agencies and government to ensure that such a ‘mistake’ never happens. Security operatives from the Bureau of National agencies last two weeks seized four vehicles belonging to Prof Mills with the explanation that they were using security numbers.

This generated controversy with the former vice President and the NDC calling for full-scale investigations into the incident.

Last week, government rendered the apology to the former vice President and his wife, Naadu Mills and announced that it has instituted investigations into the whole exercise. Security personnel who took part in the operation have also been suspended.

In an interview with JOY FM from his base in Canada, Prof. Mills said he has discussed the issue with his wife and they are satisfied for now. “I think clearly, at least we are happy that some reaction has come. I would wish that the blame will be put where it lies but let’s all wait for the investigations.”
