In response to longstanding security challenges confronting the College, the Dean of the Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education, Prof Samuel Alhassan Mbangba Issah, has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment by mobilizing support from his networks to secure a motorbike for the Security Section of the College, and donated the same to the institution on Thursday, 15 January, 2026.
This timely intervention marks a significant milestone in the efforts to strengthen safety and security within the campus community. For a long period, security operations, particularly patrols, monitoring, and emergency response, were constrained by limited mobility.
The acquisition of this motorbike directly addresses that gap and introduces a new level of efficiency, visibility, and responsiveness to security operations.
With this support, security personnel will now be better positioned to conduct regular and extended patrols, respond rapidly to incidents, and monitor sensitive and high-risk areas more effectively.
Beyond operational efficiency, the presence of a mobile patrol unit also serves as a strong deterrent to potential security threats, thereby promoting a safer and more secure environment for staff, students, and visitors.
This gesture reflects a deep understanding that security is a shared responsibility and that proactive investment in safety infrastructure ultimately safeguards the University at large. It underscores the importance of leadership that listens, responds, and acts decisively in the interest of institutional well-being.
The Security Section expressed profound appreciation to the Dean of the Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education, and particularly, his friend Stephen Zoure (businessman and journalist) and the leader of Friends of Prof Samuel Alhassan M Issah, for their thoughtful and impactful support.
This contribution will undoubtedly have a lasting positive effect on security operations and reinforce the University’s commitment to providing a safe, conducive environment for teaching, learning, and service.
The motorbike was received by the Management of the College on behalf of the Section. The Head of Security Operations, Principal Security Officer (PSO) Ebenezer Amoah, has assured the College Management that the motorbike would be used for its intended purposes with regular maintenance towards effective and efficient patrol duties on campus.
Present at the Management staff gathering during the presentation of the motorbike were: the Principal of the College, Prof Mrs Rebecca Akpanglo Nartey; the College Registrar, Alexander W Essah; Vice Dean, Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education, Prof Kwesi Adomako, who also pledged to donate fuel for the next three months; the College Librarian, Francis Andoh-Mensah; the Principal for Works & Physical Development, John Afriyie;
