Prof Frimpong-Boateng honoured with the Pan African Award

Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, Minister of Environment Science, Technology and Innovation has been conferred with the Pan African Greatest Medical Scientist award by the Bureau of Research on Governance, Commerce and Administration (BORGCA).

A four-member delegation from the BORGCA, Thursday, presented the award trophy to the Minister in his office in Accra and commended him for his meritorious services, first, as a heart surgeon and for distinguishing himself in the service of the nation.

BORGCA also held a main awards ceremony in Accra on December 28, 2017, to recognise and celebrate deserving people, corporate institutions and dignitaries of African descent for their meritorious works in the variety of fields they found themselves.

BORGCA is a research centre for Governance, Commerce and Administration, and a fast growing institute made up of experts and professionals in research, governance, business management and administration.

Nana Dei Broni, Executive Director of BORGCA and Mr Isaac Rockson Communication Strategist of BORGCA, together, presented the plaque to Prof Frimpong-Boateng.
“Today we honour you as the Pan African greatest medical scientist, all because you dedicated your time for humanity, you did well for us as a transplant heart surgeon. We do honour you for all you did for the services of Ghana” Nana Broni noted.

Mr Rockson on his part, said BORGCA did not want to wait to have a memorial of such great personalities but would expose the great achievement of personalities so the coming generations could emulate them as models of life.

“We want to establish the Pan African medal of fame where we would title people who have achieved excellence, we want to build a monument for great people who are making Africa proud.

“We also want to have a full documentary in a video or a book where the youth would access and be encouraged to take up the good works of people like Prof Frimpong-Boateng who has made Africa and Ghana proud” Mr Rockson said.

“Soon we will seek the consent of the Presidency and find a site to build a monument for people who had made great achievement for tourism purposes”.
Prof Frimpong-Boateng expressed his honour of receiving the award and on behalf of all those who helped him attained that feat.

“I’m not yet done with medicine and pretty soon you will hear more about me in the area of medicine.

He however expressed the hope that the new generation would take up the good deeds and help build the nation, saying, “it is not easy and it is not going to be easy, but Ghana now has a President who was determined to make a difference, especially, for the young people of the nation”.

Prof Frimpong-Boateng urged that the attitude of people should change in helping create a better future for the country, particularly, fighting corruption together and stop littering around and rather keep our environment clean.
