History was made on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, as the Christian Service University College (CSUC) ceremoniously crowned the Most Rev Prof Emmanuel Kwaku Asante as its first Chancellor in history.

This monumental event, a vibrant declaration of the University's ascent to a fully chartered tertiary institution, drew a distinguished gathering of clergy, academics, students, and dignitaries from across the nation.

Stepping into his new role with profound gravitas, Prof Asante delivered a powerful inaugural address, describing his appointment not merely as an honor, but as a 'solemn trust' and a renewed commitment' to the CSU's foundational mission.

His words resonated with a deep sense of responsibility, pledging unwavering support for the University's vision of academic excellence, robust Christian leadership, and dedicated service to society.

"This honour comes with a deep sense of responsibility and a renewed commitment to the mission and values upon which Christian Service University was founded." He said.

The Chancellor’s address was a heartfelt tribute to the giants upon whose shoulders the CSU stands.

He meticulously acknowledged the sacrifices of the early founders, pioneering missionaries, and steadfast partners, singling out the West Africa Evangelical Church (WEC) missionaries and their Ghanaian counterparts for their foundational nurturing.

He lauded the invaluable contributions of early leaders and collaborators whose collective efforts steered the institution from a humble college to its current chartered status, extending deep appreciation to past Council Chairmen, Presidents, and management.

Prof Asante specifically recognized the pivotal roles played by the immediate past President and first Vice-Chancellor, Prof Sam Kofi Afranie and the immediate past Council Chairman, Rev Dr Frimpong Manso, for their decisive leadership in securing the University's charter. He also acknowledged Sarfo for his critical work in solidifying governance structures.

Further highlighting the pillars of the CSU's academic journey, he celebrated the invaluable mentorship and strategic support from the University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and the University of Cape Coast, branding them indispensable partners in CSU's relentless pursuit of academic advancement.

Turning his attention to the heart of the institution, the Chancellor passionately commended the dedication of faculty, staff, and students.

He issued a stirring call for unity, innovation, and shared responsibility, emphasizing that thee University's sustainable growth hinges entirely on unwavering collaboration and an uncompromising adherence to the highest ethical and academic standards.
