Priorities of the NPP misplaced – Sam George

NDC Parliamentary candidate for the Ningo-Prampram Constituency for the 2016 elections, Sam George has taken a swipe at the opposition New Patriotic Party on the alleged President Mahama car gift controversy.

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) yesterday dared President John Dramani Mahama to personally speak out on the alleged $100, 000 car gift he received from a Burkinabe contractor when he was vice president.

According to the acting National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay, Mahama’s silence was disturbing and must not leave the defence to his communicators.

Meanwhile, responding to the charge, President John Dramani Mahama told a gathering at Ashaiman during his ‘accounting to the people tour’ of the Greater Accra region that the allegations will not stick because Ghanaians are discerning and as such described it as “baseless”.

However, speaking to Kasapa FM’s Maame Broni, Sam George noted that the NPP has a misplaced priority and should rather channel their energies into making Nana Akufo-Addo’s campaign a feasible one rather than daring the president unnecessarily.

“I think that the NPP has their priorities misplaced. The NPP should rather be holding meetings to decide on how they are going to streamline Nana Addo’s campaign. Nana Addo is making promises that he cannot fulfil. He is embarrassing himself constantly. The President has already converted polytechnics into technical universities, yet Nana Addo is now promising he will do that. You wonder where he has been all this time. Nana is not aligned. Clearly, the man doesn’t have ideas. What ‘Opana’ (Freddie Blay) can do is to help his candidate get some ideas to sell to the electorates.” He told Maame Broni.
