President John Dramani Mahama on Monday toured an Italian navy ship that docked on Ghana’s territorial waters.
The ship, which is operated by the 30th Italian Naval Group, comes with an accompanying helicopter and a boat, which went on display on President Mahama’s visit.
The president was taken round by Commander of the Group Real Admiral Paolo Treu, who led the government team around the supply ship, Etna, the frigate, Bergamini and the patrol boat, Borsini.
The Group undertakes multiple tasks of humanitarian assistance, maritime security operations and naval diplomacy.
It also promotes Italian entrepreneurial excellence through the Italian products on board.
The Group left the shores of Ghana Monday, March 10.
The president was accompanied by the Italian Ambassador, Laura Carprini, Chief of Staff Prosper Bani and other government officials.
