Prez Mahama is ready for any attack at IEA debate - Jinapor

President Mahama is expecting to be at the receiving end of accusations and attacks from his colleague presidential aspirants in today's IEA presidential debate.

President Mahama becomes the first sitting president to partake in the debate which is schedule for this evening in the Northern Regional capital Tamale. Speaking to the media on arrival of the president in Tamale on Monday, Presidential spokesperson John Jinapor said the president is very much expectant of the attacks and has psyched himself for them.

Mr. Jinapor said President Mahama will take the opportunity to update Ghanaians on how far his government has come with the economy.

He said “obviously the president will becoming against candidates who are after his seat so one should expect that he will be the one that that most of the candidates will be looking at towards taking a shots at. But clearly and obviously the president is ready for that.”

John Jinapor however noted that the president’s work would be made quite easy because of the NDC’s enviable track record.

“The president intends to approach this debate with honesty, with sincerety and with integrity. He would not hoodwink Ghanaians into voting for him by giving out utopian promises that he knows very well he cannot achieve,” Mr. Jinapor indicated.

Meanwhile, all the presidential aspirants are already in the Tamale township for the debate. Nana Akufo-Addo was the first to arrive on Sunday to a rousing welcome.
