Prez Kufuor saves KMA ?800m

Information reaching the "Ghanaian Voice" has it that the President Mr. J.A. Kufuor has warned the KMA boss Mr. Kofi Jumah from demolishing his Nyiaso residence and rebuild it with a whooping ?800m.

The "Ghanaian Voice" source close to KMA revealed that following the near electrocution of the KMA boss recently at his official residence where all the KMA past Mayors had lived for their official duties, Mr. Maxwell Jumah allegedly out of suspicion decided to demolish the whole premises and rebuild it at the cost of ?800 million from the coffers of KMA.

The source indicated that contrary to the Assembly's bye-laws that decision to be discussed and approved before its implementation the KMA boss allegedly single handedly decided to carry out the demolition of the structures of the official residence and rebuild it as such a high cost.

It was alleged hat when some bulldozers were made to get set to start the operation, an insider phoned President Kufuor who upon enquiries asked Jumah to confirm what he had decided to do.

Prex. Kufuor, it was said, asked him to stop his action since with the nation?s empty coffers cannot rebuild any official residence for KMA boss for ?800 million.

Kufuor, KMA insiders continued, warned Jumah to be circumspect in dealing with financial issues at KMA in order not to tarnish the image of NPP in the region. Sources close to the Ashanti Regional Administration is alleged that the Regional Minister, Mr. S.K. Boafo has also warned Jumah to comport himself about Financial matters of KMA in order not to repeat the past mistakes of other KMA bosses.

When 'Voice' called at KMA to cross-check mission, Mr. Jumah was not available and at his residence, out team spotted two big bulldozers suggesting that the machines were brought there on the demolition mission which was thwarted by President Kufuor.
