Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality gets boreholes

Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Barbara Oteng-Gyasi (WASSA HEMAA) has commissioned five boreholes in the Prestea-Huni Valley Constituency

The commissioning of the boreholes is under the "Water for All Project" which aims at providing potable water in deprived communities.

Five communities that have so far benefited from the "Water for All Project" initiative include Bonsaso, Kangakrom, Fantekrom, Prestea Cemetery Road ànd Prestea No.1.

The Member of Parliament for Prestea-Huni Valley Constituency, Barbara Oteng-Gyasi in her address stated that this initiative was to help reduce waterborne disease after a health screening exercise was conducted in some communities in the Western Region.

"In the health screening I organised in some communities in the Municipality, most children are reported to be suffering bilharzia, which is water related and this means that my " Water for All project" is in the right direction, Hon Barbara added.

The water for all project by the first four years of the NPP Member of Parliament will see 40 boreholes completed and commissioned in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality.

"The Nana Akufo Addo led administration has already started delivering on its Campaign promises which has seen most of our children benefit from the Free SHS Policy, Cocoa Pollination, 1D1F which has seen investor interest in the Aboso glass factory and the Bogoso Palm Oil Extraction factory which saw the District's 1D1F implementation Committee Inaugurated earlier today at the Assembly Conference Room", Wassa Hemaa added.

The Deputy Minister was in the Constituency to tour some communities to interact with the people.

In her concluding comment, Hon Barbara Oteng-Gyasi asked the people to continue supporting the government in the policies being rolled out and prayers so that the relief the government wishes for the people of Ghana will be a realized.

The MP for Prestea Huni-Valley Constituency was accompanied by the MCE Hon Mozart K. Owuh, Constituency Chairman Mr Abiam Danso, and other constituency executives.

Barbara Oteng-Gyasi is expected to visit some more communities in Prestea, Amoanda and Wassa Nkran before she travels back to Accra to continue with Ministry work as Government prepares to lift the ban on Galamsey.

The event was held at Kangakrom, a suburb of Nyametease in the Kofi Gyan electoral area.
