Prestea Huni/Valley District receives 10,223 uniforms

Prestea, July 23, GNA - The government has allocated 10,223 pieces of school uniform to the Prestea Huni-Valley District to be distributed to pupils in public schools for free.

The district has so far distributed 6,368 pieces of the uniforms, which are of various sizes. There are a total of 5,734 for boys and 4,789 for girls.

The exercise, which is expected to be completed soon, is supervised by both the assembly and the District Directorate of Education to ensure that the intended beneficiaries receive them.

Mr. Robert Cudjoe, District Chief executive for Prestea Huni Valley, told the Ghana News Agency, (GNA) in an interview at Prestea on Friday.

He said to ensure that all schools within the district saw an improved environment conducive for effective teaching and learning, the district had used part of its Mineral Royalties and the District Development Facility to procure over 2,000 pieces of standard dual including mono desk to be distributed to selected basic schools and the Prestea Secondary/Technical High School.

The Assembly intended to procure and supply more of the furniture to other schools, he stated.
