Pressure mounts on CID to arrest Boateng Gyan

Tempers are flaring among a section of the public due to the inability of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to apprehend Mr. Yaw Boateng Gyan.

Consequently, some concerned citizens have officially petitioned the CID to, as a matter of urgency, arrest the national organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The national organizer was caught on a leaked tape promising to assist some thugs to infiltrate the country’s security agencies to cause mayhem in the upcoming election.

Addressing the media after presenting the petition on Monday, the spokesperson for the group, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, said the group is expecting that action would be taken decisively on the matter.

The petition was submitted with a copy of the tape to the CID boss.

Mr. Korsah said “if the laws of Ghana do work, we expect that by the close of today (Monday), Mr. Yaw Boateng Gyan should be arrested, subjected to some questioning and as soon as possible without delay some prosecution should be underway.”

He however cautioned the National Security Coordinator, Gbevlo Lartey, to allow the police to investigate the matter since his office was mentioned in the tape.
