President inaugurates dormitory for Begoro Senior High

Koforidua, June 01, GNA - President John Atta Mills has inaugurated a two-storey dormitory for the Begoro Presbyterian Senior High School and sai= d the 93Better Ghana Agenda" was meant to provide infrastructure for the p= eople of Ghana. He said the government would not relent in its efforts in making sure that the people in the area and students had their fair share of the 93Bet= ter Ghana Agenda" cake. The inauguration of the facility formed part of the President's three-day working visit to the Eastern Region. Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, said the government was utilizing the nation's resources appropriately, hence the establishment of many developmental facilities in just two-and-a-half years in office. Mr Oko Charway, the Headmaster of the school, said the facility, in addition to another 20-unit uncompleted girls' dormitory, had enhanced th= e school's population to 2,230, out of which 1,750 are in the boarding hous= e. He also thanked the government for giving the school a six-unit classroom block that had enhanced teaching and learning. He appealed to the government to build a dinning hall, staff bungalows and additional classroom blocks for the school. Omanhene of Begoro, Daasebre Awuah Kotoko II, appealed to the government to solve the water problem in the town including stand pipes and mechanized boreholes that would ensure a 24-hour water supply for the Begor= o Township. He also appealed to the government to provide at least a school bus fo= r Nsutam Senior High School since its student population was increasing and t= o also fix the road from Osiem to Begoro.
