President Mills returns from Cote d'Ivoire

Accra, Oct. 8, GNA - President John Evans Atta Mills returned home this afternoon from Cote d'Ivoire after a day's working visit. He was accompanied by some government officials.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Chris Kpodo told journalists at the Kotoka International Airport that President Mills' trip to Cote d'Ivoire was basically to lend his support to the Ivorian Government in their upcoming Presidential elections. Mr Kpodo said with Ghana standing out as an icon on the continent with successful elections, President Mills' visit afforded him the opportunity to lend to that country, Ghana's rich experience, in order to contribute towards a peaceful election for Cote d'Ivoire. He said the visit was in the spirit of cooperation and friendliness amongst countries in the West African sub region.

President Mills was met at the airport by the Vice President John Dramani Mahama, Ministers of State and senior military and police personnel. 8 Oct. 10
