President Mills deserves a second term in office - GAME

Tema, June 5, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Ghana "stand to benefit if President John Evans Atta Mills is given the opportunity to serve another term in office," a statement issued by Get Atta Mills Elected (GAME) has said.

The statement, issued by the Ashaiman branch of the (GAME) and signed by its Co-ordinator, Emmanuel Nikoi Dsane, said even though it believed in democracy and competitive politics, it was confident that President Mills' humility, honesty and integrity were the key factors that would ensure that the NDC came out of the presidential primaries more united than ever to win the 2012 general elections.

It said it was more inspirational to see most party gurus who for some time now had been sitting on the fence, to re-surface and throw their weight behind the President in order to ensure resounding victory come 2012.

The group pointed out that the other candidate, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, was equally qualified to lead the NDC, but appealed to her to, in the interest of party unity, step down to enable President Mills to complete his work during the second term in office.

It said: 93We want to state emphatically that changing the driver, will lead the entire party into a ditch, since we cannot be sure of the new driver's grasp of the terrain and his aptitude to take us home safely."

The statement said the group sincerely believed that 93President Mills can do what others can do, that others can also do what the Professor can do, but the fact still remains that the 91Asomdwie Hene' is the safest pair of hands for the NDC Yutong Bus for now."

It, therefore, assured the President that it would seriously campaign to ensure his victory in the July 8-10 Presidential Primary in the Brong-Ahafo Regional capital of Sunyani.
