President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has urged Ghanaians to be critical of his work.
He says the constructive criticism helps to shape the work that he and his government do for the people of Ghana.
The president made this known while addressing the Ghanaian community in Russia.
He indicated that in the era of new media, his government is guided by content shared via various platforms, which helps to address issues he hitherto wouldn’t be privy to.
“So tomorrow, if we see that someone is leading us the wrong way, we must all, not based on partisan leanings, say we are not going in the right direction. I don’t mind if people tell me I’m leading the country in the wrong direction.
I’m trying to do my best and criticism helps me to do better and so when people criticize me and they say this is not right, this is not right…There are sometimes I go on the media and I see some things, and I call the minister and draw his attention to it and seek explanation before I tell them to take care of the issue,” he said.
The President indicated that he sees from his feed on social media what Ghanaians post and that helps him to make informed decisions for the country and makes him a better leader.
